Hair Guide

Hair Pattern

Hair pattern refers to the natural degree of your curls.

Type 1: Straight

Type 2: Wavy

Type 3: Curly

Type 4: Coily

Whether you are A, B, or C depends on how tight your pattern appears.

You can determine your curl pattern by taking a strand of your hair and placing it on a white sheet of paper.

Hair Density

Hair density is the amount of hair that is on your head.

Your hair density can be fine, medium, and thick.

You can determine your hair density by measuring the circumference of your ponytail.

Hair Porosity

Hair porosity is how much moisture your hair can hold.

Your hair porosity can be low, medium, or high.

Low porosity hair doesn’t let anything in or out. This makes it harder to add moisture to your hair.

High porosity hair lets product in easily but also looks it easily. This means you’ll need to add a gel or oil into your routine to be a sealant.

You can test the porosity of your hair by spraying clean, dry hair with a water bottle. If the water sits on your hair, you have low porosity hair. If the water is absorbed and your hair gets wet, you have high porosity hair.
